Betsy Beach
GED Student Service Coordinator, Math Teacher
Betsy Beach has been with Westbay nearly five years, and has several years experience teaching math and working in adult education. She has a B.A. in Urban Education from Brown University.
Betsy has also participated in writing and piloting adult education math standards for the State of Rhode Island, and is a member of the state sponsored TIAN math teaching research project. She is currently researching transition to college math curriculum for the state of Rhode Island.
Patricia Scott Roque
GED Instructor
Patricia Scott Roque is a certified teacher, specializing in the teaching of Reading. She has been working with Westbay GED students in all subject areas for two years. Patricia has a B.S. in Education from Lesley University.
Deborah DeSousa
Learning Resource Center Instructor
Deborah DeSousa graduated from Boise State University in 1997 with a B.A. in elementary/middle school education teaching all subject areas and currently holds a teaching certificate (K-8). After teaching fifth grade for five years, she moved into adult education. Deborah has facilitated classes in ESOL, ABE, GED and Basic Computer Skills for the past seven years. She will begin graduate studies in Literacy in September of 2010.
